9 hours of sleep in 2 days

let me sum this up:
what i thought was going to be a quick drop in at Iron Horse on friday night turns into a let-try-to-get-Alma-drunk night. Thanks to Laura - representing straight from Winterpeg, Marcela, Mario, Melissa and Renuka for making Friday nite ridiculously hilarious. Got in at 4:30am, and i was up and at work at 9am! not gonna lie, i wasn't looking my best.
Saturday nite: the party continues, in true latino style: its a bday for the 12 year old. Yeah whateva'. Its more like, ok one more time cousins lets start drinking.

And then, who shows up at a BBQ at midnight? Like com'on now....
ok, fine, it was me! (and cousins krew)
Gotta love house parties, a fire pit, alot of alcohol and a round (a really long round) of sociables, Miguel's bday bbq bash was well under way. Best part of the night: saf-e-way soda, bupaz, and the cookie monsta'!
Got home at 5am and was at church singing my heart out by 11am. Needless to say Marcela and Rodrigo didn't look too hot Sunday! BUt on the otha' hand, i didn't have a 19 hr busride home like Laura and Andrew. Yep, they still on the road as i blog. povresitos...

now, i am sick as hell but its aight, bday is this week (ladies and gents) its on Thursday! the big 23! dios mio, que locura. i remember turning 15 yesterday. ok fine, maybe i don't. course we gonna do it up big.

Big ups to the party krew from last nite, my cousins and their friends for making this "relaxing" weekend, not so shabby. till next time, i am out....

what makes you happy? really really happy?

me: sunrise and sunset. true friends. good laughs with my family, okay fine: he had the ball last. having more family parties to look forward to. doing my version of pay it forward at the 2nd cup drive thru every so often. falling asleep with the rain tapping my window sill. knowing that when i wake up it will be a brand new day and whatever was nagging me the day before is over and done with. long talks with ol' skool pals. running. knowing that i did it for me and not for you or you or you! watching lil' kids be innoncent and mecetrefes.

7 days in Paradise!

imagine.... beautiful beaches + 40 degree weather + endless drinks (both non and alcoholic) + 4 friends....

a 7 day gongshow!

Just got back into E-town, ofcourse not with out a pit stop in Calgary - yes, yes I did go out. Thanks to Jordan and her E-town crew.

Cancun was nothing short than AMAZING!

Highlights:
-the city club: no dance floor? no problem! we'll just dance on our tables!
- sleeping in for our first tour and making the bus wait for 4 hungover (more like still drunk girls) running through the resort to make the bus!
- foam party: googles and all.
-running through sprinkler at the golf resort to de-foam ourselves.
- FaT Tuesday: shady shady night!
- snorkling and watching a dear friend flip on the tube down the river. no names mentioned!
- hiking the Mayan Ruins
- hearing our resort dj: Shakey-shakey shakey. uh - uh, uh -uh!
- Canadian krew from T.dot.
- shopping at Mercado 28.
- is she passed out? throw some water on her. no wait, throw some vodka!
- tanning - yes, ladies and gents: i burnt!! its soo painful.
- hey jude!

of course there are tonnes of stories and gong-show experiences that i will foreva' hold dear to my heart. and although i may have lost 5 years with my liver and kidneys..it was worth it! the good and the bad. actually there was no bad. can definately say we spent the 7 days attached at the hip and we still like each other. although the 3 hr car ride home was a true test. heheh ... kidding! All Cancun-ed out. pictures will be coming soon.

and we will be on the beach with a beer inone hand and a margarita in the otha', ok fine, and some more behind us....

I also want to send congrats to 2 new mommies in this world. Karen had Chloe on August 1st, and her cousin Fatima delivered Valentina on August 3rd! Pics will be coming as soon as I visit the lovely gals!

weekend update: pretty chilling. We are trying to save our energy for the endless party to come in Cancun!

Pepe is back in one piece after his crazy adventure to see Oscar and Susana in Brasil. Not only did he see Southern Brasil, he got to travel through Chile, Peru and Argentina. No worries, i am next!

things that make me smile:
well behaved kids, a good cup of coffee - recently hooked on Sumatra Manhandling from 2nd cup, seeing old friends, seeing the next generation of dancers in the family perform - what can I say -the torch has been passed down!
